Decompression Relieves Pressure Caused by:

  • Disc Herniation
  • Disc Bulge
  • Sciatica
  • Spondylolisthesis
  • Degeneration
  • Facet / Arthrosis Syndrome

Reverse High Infra-Disc Pressure

When pressure builds up inside the disc, it causes bulging of the jelly-like disc material. With increasing or prolonged pressure, it often leads to a disc rupture or herniation which spills out the disc material.

The bulging or spilled out disc material is what puts pressure on the nerves and other structures that cause pain. This pain can travel into the buttocks and down the legs or into the toes. It can cause numbness and also lead to dysfunction.

Decompression relieves pain by creating a vacuum type suction which reverses the high pressure inside the disc (high intra-disc pressure) and draws the bulging or herniated material back into the disc. This procedure is called non-surgical Spinal Decompression and is proven successful in 86% of patients with herniated discs. This is truly a medical breakthrough now available locally at Stockton Back and Neck Pain.

Patient Evaluation

DR. Peter Huber will conduct a thorough initial history, perform a physical evaluation, review all data and combine it with any complexities involved. They use the information to make decisions to be certain the patient qualifies for the decompression procedure.  Call us at (209) 957 6555 to receive a free consultation with Dr. Peter Huber.

The Treatment Program

The primary goals of the physician are to make an accurate diagnosis and thoroughly inform the patient of their condition so they completely understand their options for care. It takes into consideration the diagnosis, severity of the condition, level of risk, accompanying factors and any complexities that may
be involved.

A typical treatment program is spread over a few weeks. Success is reported to be 86% with herniated discs and higher for the other conditions with most patients well or better. There are no documented cases of anyone worsening from the procedure.

Additional Support is available if necessary in the form of nutrition, foot/shoe orthotics to stabilize gait if required, special "Tens" (transcutaneous electrical nerve stimulator) unit to be worn at home to block pain impulses from the nerve.

We will provide instructions for home or self-care and recommend any restrictions of work or activities as part of our patient education program.

Patients come to us for the relief of pain and to live their lives to the fullest and that's what we give them.  Call us at (209) 957 6555 to receive a free consultation with Dr. Peter Huber.

Why Decompression Works

Decompression relieves pressure that builds up on the discs and nerves. The task of relieving pain comes about as a result of drawing areas of herniated disc back into place.

Decompression relieves pressure that builds up on the discs and nerves. The task of relieving pain comes about as a result of drawing areas of herniated disc back into place.

Decompression accomplishes this by creating negative pressure within the disc, referred to as negative intra-discal pressure. This creates essentially a vacuum to draw the bulging and herniated disc material back into the disc space and relieve pressure.

As the ligaments that hold disc material in place become stretched or torn due to bulging and herniation, Decompression strengthens the ligament bands that hold the disc material in place to prevent future recurrence.
